Flex Fuel Sensor support is coming soon to Platinum Sport ECU range!

A Flex Fuel Sensor is a device that measures the ethanol content in the car’s fuel system. The sensor is installed between the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel tank, where it monitors the ethanol content of the fuel returning to the tank. That information is then passed onto the Haltech ECU which applies fuel, ignition and boost corrections to make the best power for the ethanol content available.
The Haltech Flex Fuel Sensor allows the driver to add any mixture of ethanol/petrol (from 0-100% ethanol content) without the need to swap tunes or use a laptop.
The Haltech Flex Fuel Sensor is easy to install, basic to setup and works with all Haltech Platinum Sport and Pro ECUs – Another example of Haltech making things easier for the tuners.

Does this make sense even for street cars with regular fuel that might have a different amount of ethanol depending on the fuel brand?
Where can one download the newest version with the correct table to make this sensor work as advertized. Thanks.
The 1.12 version will be available soon, There is no confirmed release date yet.
When will this be released for the WRX (2002-2005)?
Hi Chris,
The WRX ECU is still in testing and will be release pretty soon now.
keep posted on the website for updates.
Will this be compatible with a E11v2 or only the new P1000, P2000 models?
It’s this going to be a 0-5 volt sensor? Or is it like the GM unit?
Hello James,
this is only going to be available for all platinum series ecus only. The E8 and E11v2 cannot and will not run this unit.
Thank you
Hello Jose,
This sensor is a 3 wire 12v sensor.
Thank you
What else is required to run this sensor with the 34 GTR platinum pro????
Is this compatible with other competitor ECUs utilizing a digital input?
Hi Dan,
The R34 GTR Platinum Pro requires an Input Output Expander http://www.haltech.com/product/can-devices/haltech-io-expander-12/
Once you Have one of these you will be able to run flex fuel on your Car.
Please give us a call or email [email protected].
Thank you
Hello, will this sensor be able to ”count” the fuel ROZ or RON each time we fill up our cars? Like 95 or 100 RON’s we got here in Europe and make the appropriate (e.x advance) adjustments so we can avoid knock…?? Also I got a car-puter will I be able to watch on my screen the number of RON’s that my fuel has in the car’s tank and running at the moment? Some fuel sellers are BIG cheaters… :( Thank and sorry for my bad English…. :)
Any update on the update?
Akis,
It is an ethanol content sensor, not an octane sensor. It does not measure ROZ or RON. It is simply for calibration for differing ethanol content in ethanol blended fuels (i.e. E85 (summer), E70 (winter), E98, etc.).
I’d also like to request that this sensor be offered in a variation that allows someone to use -AN fittings. I don’t have stock rubber lines on my car anymore and necking down into this sensor would be a problem.
Hi everyone,
I have heard a sneaky rumor version 1.12 with flex fuel support will be available and ready to use shortly after SEMA at the end of the month! Ill keep you updated with any further news!!!
Dave
Matt,
So you mean that this sensor for my car (and many other street tuned cars) that uses pump gas (plain unleaded fuel) and 2T oil premix is useless? It will not do any calibration if the sensor ”read” smthng wrong with the fuel??? Please advise…! Thank you! :)
Does this sensor have the same frequency output as the GM/Siemens 12570260?
Same question as above. Does this sensor give the same signal output equal to 12570260 or 12568450 from Siemens/GM? I am asking since my ECU documentation state the GM version but I’d rather buy this Haltech sensor.
I agree with the above comment, would it be possible to get this sensor with AN fittings? Preferably not just AN-6 either, but AN-4 and AN-8 as well to cover multiple situations
With SEMA over and nearing the end of week 1 November, should we expect 1.12 to be released soon? I’ve got my car in the shop this week and was going to get the iq dash so I could see the ethanol content reading.
Hello John & Shogun, These units are essentially the same units as the GM sensors.
The calibrations for the Flex Fuel sensors can be found in the haltech software V1.12.
Public release is coming very soon…..
Will this work with the sprint 500
Hello Juan,
No Sorry, this will not work with the Sprint 500 ecu
Thank you.
Any further news on a release??
Hello Everyone,
We are pleased to Announce that a full Public release (1.12) will be available for download on the 10th of December 2012.
Thank you
will this work with the s2000 platinium pro ecu??
also where do we purchase this from, cannot find it on your website
hello BOss2K
it is already available to run on the Platinum Pro Range.
http://www.haltech.com/store/index.php/default/catalogsearch/result/?q=flex
you will also need an IO expander box to run this unit.

What happened – no update !
Hi guys, will there be a Flex Fuel Sensor that will work for the Sprint 500 ecu? I currently have the sprint installed in my car and think this sensor is a great idea. Keep up the great work guys.
I didn’t see anything in the V112 software for startup enrichment compensation from the flex fuel sensor. Without this feature it would be very difficult to start your car on a cold morning after making a switch in fuels.
Hello Joel,
Ill send you an email about this one.
Thank you
Is the flex sensor and the IQ3 dash compatible with a Motec M800 plug ‘n’ play ecu?
this is only going to be available for all platinum series ecus only. The E8 and E11v2 cannot and will not run this unit.I didn’t see anything in the V112 software for startup enrichment compensation from the flex fuel sensor. I cannot find it in the export shop for sale, a link with buy me? Please take my money and sell me one!
