Due to popular demand Haltech will be holding 2 one-day ECU Training Seminars at the Haltech Head Office in Sydney. The first seminar will be held on Thursday 16th February 2012 followed by the second seminar on Friday 17th February 2012.

In order to enhance the learning experience, we’re limiting the participants number to 10 per seminar.

During the Haltech Training Seminar attendees will be introduced to Haltech’s Platinum Series ECUs and shown how to setup and start an engine from scratch, including crank/cam trigger setup, ignition setup and base fuelling setup.

Luis Corujo took the Paradise Racing Celica to Aruba to compete in the local drag racing event. Here is how the weekend went in Lous’ own words.

“We qualified 2nd with a 7.27 @ 195mph and won the first round. We then had a bye in the second round. In the semi-finals we lined up against the Tacoma Kings, The Racing Store vs Paradise Racing.”

“Even with the Paradise Racing Celica detuned by about 500hp we run another 7.27 @ 195mph and with a hell of a hole shot! As we lined up for the finals and I heard the old Bert Bacharac song “Rain Drops are falling on my head. “We lost the event in the coin toss to our boy Javier Ayala and the Lucimar Racing Team.”

“We want to thank all of the fans, the people of Aruba are just simply awesome, the turnout was amanzing! Even more amazing was the following on the internet – there were people from Australia, Europe, South Africa, all over the Caribbean and of course the U.S. hanging on tooth and nail for results! Haltech Engine Management Systems USA is proud to announce its involvement with the Throttle Nation Real Street BMW S1000RR Turbo Bike project.

For this project, Haltech USA provided and installed its top of the line universal ECU – the Platinum Sport 2000. The ECU incorporates full control over fuel and ignition, as well as advanced features such as high resolution data logging, dual mapping, fully adjustable boost control, CAN data network expansion for additional inputs and outputs, as well as control over auxiliary functions such as cooling fans, fuel pumps, electric oil pumps, and any additional accessories.

Haltech also incorporated a Racepak IQ3 Logger dash, with GPS and 3 Axis G-Meter. This Display communicates to the ECU via a high speed CAN network, and receives and logs all vital engine data. In addition to the ECU and dash, Haltech also employed its new High Power Ignition (HPI4) module to supply up to 15amps of current to the BMW coils, as well as a 4 channel CAN based Thermocouple Amplifier (TCA4) to monitor critical exhaust gas temperature. All of these fully tunable Haltech devices were all carefully installed utilizing a custom one-off engine and chassis harness, fabricated in house at Haltech USA’s Lexington KY office.

After a quick base tune on the standard, naturally aspirated engine, the bike was shipped off to DaVinci Turbo for a custom race turbo kit, to supply the airflow necessary for competition in Real Street.

The development of our Pro Plug-In ECU for the Hyundai Genesis has entered its last testing stage. The feedback from our dedicated testers has been overwhelmingly positive and we are happy to report that we’re on schedule to meet our planned release date.

We have received numerous enquiries about the features of the new Genesis Pro Plug-in, and while we cannot release the full spec sheet just yet, we can disclose some of the most asked for information.

Fully Programmable
The Haltech Genesis ECU is a standalone fully programmable replacement for the factory ECU.
It bolts into the factory location and plugs into the standard harness without the need for modification or extra wiring.
Utilizing the OEM hardware, making the Haltech Genesis ECU is a true Plug ‘n Play solution.

Drive By Wire Control
The Haltech Genesis ECU has full control over the electronic throttle, allowing the user to improve the throttle response over the factory ECU.
Up to 100% throttle is now achievable under all conditions and the pedal to throttle relationship can also be adjusted.

Variable Cam Timing
The Haltech Genesis ECU has full control over both the intake and the exhaust camshafts.
With a user definable target table for each camshaft, complete control is now achievable resulting is large mid range power gains.

OBDII Support
The Haltech Genesis ECU has OBDII compatibility, allowing generic scan tools to communicate directly with the Haltech ECU via the OBDII port.
Real time data as well as DTC’s (diagnostic trouble codes) can be read and erased just like the OEM ECU.

E85 Support
The Haltech Genesis ECU has E85 compatibility when a GM Flex Fuel sensor is used.
Fuel, Ignition and Boost can all be adjusted against ethanol content, allowing the engine to run correctly with any ethanol mixture.

Australia’s biggest gathering of car enthusiasts is without a doubt the Street Machine Summernats. This year, the event attracted close to 100,000 participants. The four day horsepower party had something for everyone with burnout competitions, car show, the famous Summernats cruise and of course the much loved Miss Summernats competition.

Haltech was on hand, displaying the latest engine management products and offering technical advice to the enthusiasts.

 

Released in 2000, the S2000 was Honda’s foray into the two-seater sport roadster category. Featuring a high-tech 2.0L, four cylinder V-Tec engine matched to a superb six speed gearbox, the car’s light weight and 240hp output made it very popular amongst performance enthusiasts.

With a rear-wheel drive and high quality finish, the S2000 managed to convert a number of Mazda Miata, Toyota MR2 and even BMW Z3 drivers over to the Honda camp.

As the affordability of used S2000s increases so does that number of them getting tuned to high performance specs. Keeping its finger on the pulse of tuning trends, Haltech engineers have developed a PRO Plugin ECU for the Honda S2000.

The Haltech PRO Plugin AP1 is a direct replacement of the factory ECU and requires no special tools or messy rewiring. Simply remove the OEM ECU and plug in the Haltech unit. The Haltech ECU uses S2000’s factory sensors and supports VTEC control.

The PRO Plugin AP1 is available now and suits the following Honda S2000 models:
- AP1 Chassis Code  – F20C engine – 2000 through to 2003
- AP2 Chassis Code – F22C engine – 2003 – through to 2005 (non DBW)
