With Joe Signorelli behind the wheel and with the help of Haltech Platinum Sport, the GAS Celica has just set a new World Record smashing Rod Harvey’s week-old record by 2/100th of a second.
Testing for the Fuchs Nationals at the Sydney Dragway, the 2JZ-powered Celica run a blistering time of 6.38@223mph, instantly becoming the World’s Fastest Sport Compact.
“The car felt good, but there was still some tyre shake,” said Joe, “I think we can still go faster!”

Congratulations, keep going faster. That is a amazing achievement.
Great pics and post. Joe beat Harvey’s record by two hundredths of a second though. Not “two whole tenths”.
