The 20th Annual Jamboree was held over the weekend of 21 and 22 of August with the biggest turnout of Haltech powered Pro class cars yet! More than 250 cars from Australia, New Zealand and even Puerto Rico arrived at Queensland’s Willowbank Raceway ready to race. Here at Haltech we were all making the 1000km journey to Willowbank any way we could! None of us wanted to miss this weekend! Some of the guys even made a last minute decision to drive through the Friday night to get to the track for the first session! The weather leading up to the event looked a little shady, but as usual sunny Queensland offered two days of perfect racing conditions.
On Debut with all new Haltech installations included PAC Performance‘s Pro Turbo Mazda6 who stunned crowds with very consistent 6.80-6.90 passes above 200mph all weekend. This truly shows how reliable these engines can be. This car is truly the fastest and quickest Rotary in the world. The PAC camp came in as Runners up in the Pro Turbo category for the weekend. Congratulations guys.
Maatouk Racing also had their brand new 3/4 Chassis VL Commodore out turning a few heads. The car is equipped with a PS2000 and Racepak logger dash. It was producing very consistent 7.70′s @ 165-174 mph. Keep an eye on this car as it has plenty left in it! Even Maatouks’ crews were having a great time with plenty of BBQ’ing and Partying in the pits!
The GAS Motorsport tent was impressive as always with plenty of Pro Turbo contenders for the Weekend. Their cars included: Zoran Gajic’s PROBMW, Smokin Joe in his GAS Toyota Celica, Ben Bray in the GAS Toyota Scion and Craig Dyson’s Celica. All of these cars are capable of running well into the Mid 6′s, however due to a streak of bad luck Ben Bray was the only Gas car to crack into the 6′s running consistent 6.60′s until he Red lit on a solo pass?! – There is speculation that the tree may have been playing up.
