Rotormaster and Joe Signorelli have long been amongst the most iconic names on the Australian drag racing scene and with Joe’s World Record Celica getting all the attention lately, we thought we’ll take a look at his “other” car – the Mazda RX-7.

Powered by Mazda’s triple rotor, street ported 20B engine matched to a G-Force GF2000 gearbox and featuring a Garrett GTX billet turbo, the car makes in excess of 1400hp. Working quietly behind the scenes is Haltech’s Platinum Sport 2000 ECU with a Haltech Progressive Boost Control and Methanol WideBand. Haltech RacePak IQ3 Logger Dash sits proudly in front of the driver.

Running on C16, Joe has managed to take the car to a 7.1@171mph ET, but with a switch to methanol on the cards in the near future, Joe is confident of dipping well into the sixes. With Joe’s reputation for pushing cars to their limits, the RX-7 might very well soon steal some attention away from the 2JZ world champion!
