Orlando Sport Compact Finals

Orlando Speedworld Dragway played host to the Haltech Sport Compact Finals last weekend and it was a memorable event to say the least!

Damon Chin posted a new PB with an amazing [email protected] pass. His elation was short lived however as he crashed the car on his next outing in a somber reminder that racing is dangerous and accidents can and do happen.

To make things worse, all indicators show this would have been a 5-second pass! On a happier note we are happy to report Damon is okay (though badly bruised). We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back racing next year.

Well deserved congratulations also go to Neil Ramkissoon of Neil Auto Works who achieved a new personal best of [email protected] in his Haltech-powered 2JZ  Nissan 240SX/S13.

But the man of the event, without a doubt, was Navin Maraj. Navin’s 2JZ powered R32 GTR caught fire in qualifying after a transmission cooler line burst covering the engine in trans fluid.

While this would have put a lesser team out of contention, the Medicine Man Racing Team managed to repair the damage and continued to race, eventually setting up an all-Haltech finals against Neil Ramkissoon in the Import Street Outlaw class.

Navin took the win defying all the odds and proving he has the determination and perserverance to overcome all obstacles.

“This is what its all about! The fire pushed us to reach the winners circle! We want to send a big shout out to Crispeed Tuned, Haltech ECU as well as Larry from Drag International for making this victory a possibility.”

Congratulations also to Mr. President who set a new Sport Compact World Record with his [email protected] pass.
