Trackside: Formula Drift – Long Beach

Forrest Wang proved once again he is a force to be reckoned with, claiming the runner-up spot at the second round of Formula Drift in Long Beach, California.

Taking place under lights, on Friday and Saturday evenings, the Motegi Racing Super Drift Challenge might not be part of the official FD series but it it is both an amazing spectacle for the fans and a chance for the FD drivers to show off their skills in front of the packed grandstands. On Friday night, Wang raced against Kyle Mohan in the opening round. He then went on to win against Faruk Kugay (Poland) and faced Federico Sceriffo (Italy) in the FFF Drifting Department Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano Drift Spec “Fiorella” in the finals. PHOTO: Larry Chen

Kyle Mohan debuted his new-look RX-8. The car performed well and the new livery was a hit with the fans.
Kyle faced James Deane in the Top 32 battle with Deane taking the win.

Also debuting a new livery for 2019 was Dirk Stratton and his Drift-Vette.

Dirk went up against Chris Forsberg in the Top 32 with the latter emerging victorious.
