Haltech Heroes: Nathan’s big block, twin turbo ’69 Camaro

It is a big, blue thing of beauty! Nathan’s Camaro could possibly be the perfect cruiser.

It sits low and looks like it’s ready to pounce thanks to airbag suspension that also makes it great to cruise on the streets around Sydney.

And when it comes to cruising cred, nothing is cooler than 509ci of American-made big-block Chev muscle.

But if that wasn’t enough, it is fed a tonne of boost by a pair of precision 7675 turbos, which bring the power up to well over 1000HP.

Other performance enhancing bits include AFR heads, Turbosmart wastegates, and a sweet Plazmaman plenum.

The turbos peek through the front grille, and give the car a very subtle menacing feel.

This is made possible by relocating the radiator to the back of the car.

The interior has been fully restored and give the refined feel of classic motoring

The one exception to the classic interior is the MoTeC dash, which receives all its info via Haltech CAN protocol from the Elite 2000 ECU

which is hidden neatly away in the glove box.

Gears are swapped via a B&M Shifter, mated to a turbo 400 box.

Power makes its way to the ground via a shortened Ford 9in and some deep dish Simmons wheels.

When it comes time to pull the big mother up, Wilwood takes care of braking duties.

It all comes together to make one of the nicest cruising cars we’ve ever had the pleasure of driving.
