JT and 40PSI – The 1900hp Beast from New Zealand

JT, or James Wildon, from JT Performance, has made a name for both his business and his R32 in his home country of New Zealand.

His business, JT Performance, started out after he quit his retail job and began doing mechanical work from his garage, slowly growing over the years through multiple workshops. JT Performance has become one of the premier workshops in New Zealand, specialising in mechanical work and tuning, building some of the biggest and baddest cars in NZ, including his very own R32 GT-R Drag Car “40PSI”.

“40PSI” makes just over 1900HP on 60PSI of boost with its newest setup and has run a 8.58 @169.8 MPH making it the current fastest “Full Street Trim” GT-R in NZ. The R32 GT-R has a 3.6L Billet Block with an RB26 Head, “R35” Coils, Promod 8803, electronic fuel pump, mechanical throttle, Kelford Cams, springs, retainers and an Albins 6 speed Sequential. All controlled by the Nexus R5 with the rest of the car being controlled by the PD16.

The full steel body R32 is sitting on MCA Red coilovers with Buddyclub P1 wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson ET Street R’s with an array of Hardrace adjustable arms underneath, with billet driveshafts in the factory GT-R diffs.

JT is leaving the car in Sydney for the next few months to compete with some of the biggest GT-R’s in Sydney and the world.
