Manuel and his Volvo S60

VOTE FOR MANUEL’S VOLVO TO WIN THE 2023 HALTECH HERO OF THE YEAR HERE

We don’t feature many Volvos, but Manuel Ramoa’s S60 Challenge is a special beast.

The car started its life as a Volvo Motorsport STCC car. Once retired from the factory team, the car has been acquired by Manuel and converted to a weekend racer which, in its rather short career already managed to score a couple of podiums!

Manuel is currently campaigning the S60 in CNV Legends which is an FIA-sanctioned series held in Portugal. To date, he has achieved P3 and P2 in the Algarve Classic Festival in the Super Trophy class.

Powered by a 2319cc T5 turbocharged engine, the car currently makes 430hp and 560Nm of torque and Manuel is already planning a turbo upgrade to get into the 650hp region. The current Volvo K24 turbo is soon to be upgraded to a Pulsar 6255G (aka G30-900).

The whole car is controlled by Haltech’s Nexus R5 with a PD16, CAN keypad, and iC-7 dash. The Haltech systems looks after the engine functions like fuel injection and ignition as well as boost control, data logging, and other race-specific features.
